The installed Shoutcast server is version 2.6.1 (Shoutcast v2). The tutorials also mention versions 1 and 2.5 because the panel supports them, but on this service the installed server is 2.6.1.

We use Sonic Panel, installed and managed by us on our own server. We chose it for practical reasons: it is one of the most widely used panels in radio hosting, so the interface is familiar to anyone who has managed a radio before; it supports Shoutcast (versions 1, 2.5 and 2.6) and Icecast, so we can offer both; it includes AutoDJ, real-time listener statistics with a map, DJ accounts and HTTPS with automatic certificate renewal; and it allows streaming to YouTube and Facebook on the plans that include it. Because it runs on our server, installation, licensing and configuration are in our hands, with no resellers in between. We do not claim it is the best at everything: it was the one that best balanced these requirements.
